The Board of Directors of the Society unanimously voted to reappoint Dr Antonio Salmerón Cabañas, SHA, FGSI, of Madrid, Spain, to the position of Honorary Herald of the Society for a second three-year term at its monthly meeting held on Thursday 2nd October 2025 (Res: 25/10/1949). Dr Salmerón has been the Honorary Herald of the Society since 2022 and represents the Society in Spain where he is also an expert witness in heraldic matters to the courts of the Kingdom of Spain. A lecturer, author, a widely respected heraldist and a renowned heraldic artist, Dr Salmerón has guided the development of the Society’s Specialist Branch, Heraldry Ireland, and advised the Board on heraldic matters generally, including on the Society’s National Heraldic Survey.
